Realistic Microscope Prop | Technical Asset Study
This realistic 3D microscope was modeled based on technical drawings, with a focus on maintaining true-to-life proportions, functionality, and fine mechanical details. The goal was to create a high-fidelity asset suitable for both first-person experiences and cinematic close-ups.
Modeling was done in Blender. Texturing was completed in Substance Painter, using physically based rendering (PBR) workflows to achieve realistic materials, including subtle wear, plastic roughness variation, and metal detailing on the rotating lenses.
The final asset was rendered in Unreal Engine 5, where it was placed in a realistic lab scene to reflect natural lighting conditions and showcase the asset in context.
